Frequently Asked Questions:

How do Magnetic Mailbox Covers attach?
The covers attach to standard rural mailboxes with a magnetic strip on each side of the cover. No dangling straps or screws to distract from the beautiful design. The cover has a cutout for the mailbox flag and handle.

Do the designs appear on both sides of the mailbox?
Yes. The design is the same on each side of the cover to decorate the mailbox.

What if the address number is covered when the Magnetic Cover is on the mailbox?
Each mailbox cover comes with a set of 1-inch vinyl self-adhesive numbers.  They can be placed on the covers at the discretion of the customer or on the front door of the mailbox. The numbers are included in each package and attach easily.

What sizes are available?
Magnetic mailbox covers are available in standard (6 1/2" x 19") and large, however, we currently only have the standard in stock. Large can be requested.  All mailbox cover designs are available for #1 rural mailboxes.

How do Magnetic Mailbox Covers hold up in the weather?
The covers are high quality and are made of a vinyl material called polypropylene developed to withstand the heat of Arizona and the cold winters of Minnesota.  You should not expect any fading, cracking or peeling for at least one year of everyday use.

We have strong winds in our area.  Will the Magnetic Covers blow away?
No.  This is frequently raised as a concern, but is very seldom a problem.  When attached normally, the covers fit so well that wind cannot get underneath them.  Concerned users can attach Magnetic Covers more permanently by using the holes along the sides of each mailbox cover.  In reality, however, this is not the problem some consumers perceive it to be.

What about theft?
As you can see, the Magnetic covers fit so well they look painted on.  Since it is not obvious how the mailbox covers attach (the magnets are not visible from the outside) theft has not been a problem for our collectors.  If this is a concern for you, however, we have included four anti-theft locking straps in each package.

Just select one or two unused mounting holes on each side of your mailbox and carefully punch out the matching pre-cut holes in your Magnetic Mailbox cover.  Attach the locking straps through these holes.  These tough electrical ties must be cut off before the mailbox cover can be removed.  The locking straps can also be used to secure the cover to plastic or aluminum mailboxes.  The straps are not reusable, but additional straps can be purchased at your local hardware store in the electrical department.

How do I store my Magnetic Mailbox cover?
Before storing your cover, wipe both sides clean with mild soap and water.
Store your mailbox cover on a flat surface.  Many people store them by sticking them to the metal side of a cold-air duct, a washing machine or refrigerator.  You can also piggyback them one on top of the other!
To prevent damage, avoid stacking other items on top of your mailbox cover.
